Frequently Asked Questions

Question: How much does it cost to take down a tree?

Answer: Believe it or not, this is probably THE most frequently asked question. Well… it depends on how big it is. But almost more importantly, it depends on where the tree is located, and what is under it. Removal prices range from $15 to $10,000 or more.

One of the most labor and equipment intensive aspects of larger removals is disposing of the larger diameter wood. If you are interested in keeping the wood, or are willing to leave it on your property until it gets picked up, we can almost always save you money.

Question: Why does my tree look like its dying?

Answer: More often than not, we can provide a simple answer. We see a lot of trees, and a lot of the same problems. sometimes a diagnosis can take a few seconds and sometimes it can take a few weeks.

Question: When is the best time to prune trees?

Answer: Short answer - winter. This seems counter intuitive for many. Deciduous trees especially, are doing most of their work for the year during the spring and early summer months. It is best not to disturb them during this time. Pruning during the growing season can disrupt a tree’s growth patterns and make it more susceptible to pests and pathogens. However, there are exceptions. Sometimes a tree has been neglected for so long that ASAP is the right time. Sometimes spring pruning will optimize fruiting and floral interests. Every tree and situation is different, but we can always help you decide when the time is right.
